41st week for our POTW series 🙂 – got delayed because of the flooding situation here in Manila 🙂

Way back in the start of the 90’s, Sunrise made their first attempt to introduce the Gundam franchise to the United States. The Gundam series we now know were a little bit too much for the young viewers of that time (think: Gundam 0079 and etc). Because of that, the concept of the DOOZY BOTS was born. It incorporated everything American in concept like football stars, hockey players, cheerleaders and a token black guy. It was supposed to be released in the Fall of the year 1991, but thank God that it was not released and only the trailer now exists. Are you not happy that the first series we came to know was Gundam Wing???
The heroes! – the first concept of the SD GUNDAM I supposed… remember that it was conceptualized back into 1991
I have just read a wonderful news today. Enough to make me jump out of bed despite of being sick because of the rain. Anyway, according to a news from a trusted source, Bandai Namco holdings already announced that they are going to build a factory here in the Philippines with the initial purpose of making capsule toys and figures. The company will be named Bandai (Philippines) Inc. and the headquarters will be located at the province of Batangas. Good news for us collectors here in the Philippines!
I really don’t know who created this awesome looking Trans-Am Quan[T]. Whoever you are, kudos for making such an awesome paint job on the MG Quan[T]. Now for those who does not know, this mobile suit is piloted by Setsuna F. Seiei on the OVA of the Gundam 00 series namely “Awakening of the Trailblazer”. Only MG Quan[T] was not given the trans-am treatment. So through someone’s effort, we are able to see what the model kit looks like in trans-am mode. If you happen to know who created this, please let us know so we could update the post.

Just about an hour ago (11:59 pm — August 2, 2012) , thefirst ever contest of the GundamPH Group has officially ended. The contest was a success! The participants enjoyed their campaign and everyone was eager to know the results! We have just finished tallying the results. Our congrats goes to entry #7 by Christian Catinguil who got 1145 likes on his entry “Dash to the Bayo”. But we just didn’t stop at that, the contest sponsor (admin Bry of GPH), offered another prize for the most creative entry. And the most creative entry goes to Rykjem Co and entry “The Gunpla Builder”.
WINNERS will be CONTACTED by the GUNDAMPH ADMINS regarding how to claim their kits ^_^
Thanks to my friend Christian for compiling this document. Posting it here so people not members of the GundamPH Facebook Group can read it as well… Will be updating this one on a need only basis… Hope our friends starting out in Gunpla will find the TERMINOLOGIES and ACRONYMS posted here to be useful.
Well here is something we do not usually see everyday. We have here an Afro Samurai inspiredcustomized Gundam model kit called “Jin-N0#2” as created by Alex Gervacio (a member of the GPH group). I was really impressed with the creativity placed on the kit and became interested to know more about this Jinno character since I am not familiar with the anime series (now I want to watch it since it looks really cool). The Jinno character AFAIK is a samurai with the head of a teddy bear. Thus, the customized kit as you can see. Loved the kit and the details. Hoping to see more of Alex’s work in the future. 🙂
We are happy to present the unboxing and out of the box build review of the HG 1/144 Gundam RX-72-2 G30th ANA version. For those who do not know about ANA you can check this post for more info. This ANA RX-78-2 Gundam is the first kit that we have built among the ANA series. And I must say that it was all worth the fuzz. It is indeed a beautiful kit. Joints were super tight (maybe because of the paint), chrome-like finish is top notch, nub marks are not really noticeable and decals are nicely thought of (meaning advertising of ANA did not get in the way of the kit). Giving it a 10/10 score! ^_^
Well this is some really STUPID news… Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) plans to come after small time online private sellers which normally advertise their goods at sites such as facebook.com, sulit.com.ph, e-bay Philippines, alibaba.com, ayosdito.ph and multiply.com. They would require those sites to be registered with the BIR. My only question is… will these actions do us any good? There are a lot of stupid laws being passed recently… People are waiting for something that makes sense… Not for something that will benefit only a few undeserving people.
