Just want to share to you what my significant other had completed during the last weekend. She was finally able to complete (according to her) the thirteen (13) NG Gundam Wing 144 scale model kits. These kits are the ones manufactured way back 1995. Definitely old school. I remember her telling me that she wanted to complete these kits because she cannot afford them during that time. So this is a childhood toy dream come true for her. She collected them from many sources, little by little until she managed to get all the 13 together. Haha! I am just proud of her! ^_^
I received a very nice gift today since it will be my birthday very soon! An early gift and something that we all love – A Gundam kit! Just roughly about a year ago, around the same month (November), I got my 2nd Gundam namely MG Strike Freedom Full Burst Mode. That was the first Gundam kit I received as a gift (because I bought the 1st one – an MG RF Astray) given by non other than my GF. Now she hands me another kit — a MG Nu Gundam with Clear Parts (which I have been eye-ing at Wasabi Toys for quite some time now). I think I really can get used to receiving kits on my birthday haha.
A little trivia:
Seeing that my GF and I both love Gundams, it became the reason we went into collecting them. It also paved the way for GundamPH to be born!
Anyway, just sharing my haul for today Its nice when someone significant to you gives you Gundam kits as gift. ^_^
We have found one more kit that we were looking for. Finally got our hands on a PG Red Frame Astray with Bonus Parts. The bonus or the special parts was part of the initial release. Thus making it a hard to find item nowadays. If there is one for sale, be sure that it has a big price tag on top of it. Anyway, the MG kits that we also managed to get were the MG Sazabi (not the special finish as before) and MG Hyaku Shiki (gold chrome). Well, more kits for us to review, more Gunpla love to share!
By the way, sorry for the poor quality of the pictures… The camera phone I usually use is on repair. I am using a spare phone instead that a friend lent to me. Again… PLEASE forgive the poor pictures. 😦
Some stuff that we forgot to post about. We got hold of the October Gundam ACE issue, the one with the Gundam the Origin RX-78-02 Head Display. Also an SD 00 Seven Sword, a Mr. Color Leveling Thinner and a Tamiya Side Cutter. Looking forward to reviewing these items especially the Tamiya Side Cutter… Have always wondered what is there about this expensive side cutter. ^_^ The leveling thinner is to test whether it has better results on clear paints than “Tamiya Thinner + Tamiya Retarder” combo.
Sharing our haul for the day. All were bought from Greenhills while toy store hopping ^_^. Finally found ourselves an HCM Pro 1/200 Destroy Gundam. We also bought the MG Char’s RX-78-2 that we have been discussing for months now whether to buy it or not. Got us some SD kits as well like the Perfect Zeong, Neue Ziel, Exia Repair II, Full Armor Gundam, Zaku II and Nu Gundam HWS. And the last kit comes from the latest Gundam series – 1/144 Gundam AGE-1 (bought it because of the good articulation reviews). We bought some tools as well like an anti-paint mask and a steel ruler.
Finally! Got our hands on a couple of 1/60 HY2M Glorious Series — Rick Dom and Gouf. We also received a brand new MSIA DX 12″ Sazabi. Got 2 Char Aznable MG kits as well namely Zaku 2 and Z’gok. And of course, the cute SD Kshatriya… There goes our savings… Hahaha! Correct me if I am wrong, but we think that the “HY2M Glorious Series” is not as popular as the mainstream Kits. Sadly only a few people collect them considering that these edition of Gundams are awesome. You can compare it to the “Gundam Collection” series or even some old school “HCM Pro” figures… The kits appeal only to some people (that includes us haha). Anyway, we are really excited to open them! I guess the MSIA DX Sazabi will go first since it is a toy figure. Half kit and half toy actually because I saw that there are some runners (about 5 I think) which needs to be built. Well, this is a happy weekend indeed 🙂 Looking forward to post a review soon 🙂
Got our 2nd box of 1/144 Devil Gundam today. You may ask why two kits? Well, we are going to build the first one, and then keep the 2nd box unbuilt. Spiderbeef (you know her right?) really loves the “G” Gundam and Wing Gundam series so much that is why when we had the chance to get this Devil Gundam, we decided to get one for each of us. After making this post I will start building the 1/144 Devil Gundam… To be followed by one of the PINK Bear Guys as soon as I finish. Looking forward to reviewing two rare kits consecutively.
Our package from Ninong’s Gundam Shop have arrived earlier this evening. Inside were our first box of 1/144 Devil Gundam and 1 bottle of Mr. Hobby Char’s Red Paint. I think everybody will agree that the 144 scale Devil Gundam is a rare find. But tell you what, during the past few weeks, a LOT, as in a lot of this Devil Gundam kits are sold on online shops and by private sellers. Because it was gone for so long that everybody wants one! Some who were able to get it early even made a bidding/auction system to sell it, but ended up losing the bidders because a lot of the kit is available elsewhere for the collectors to buy.
Its been a while since we last posted new hauls. Well, today we got some pre-owned kits and figures namely the MSIA DX (1/60) GP02A & Nu Gundam (still in good condition though missing some parts) plus one MG Char’s Rick Dom. We have as well an unbuilt MG Rick Dias. Got a deluxe Char Aznable figure too (taller than an MG). For the SD kits, we finally got our MC EX-S Gundoom and sanding sponges! Some more SD’s are Master Gundam, Gunner Zaku Warrior (luna maria custom), RX-178 MKII Titans and a GP02A as well 🙂 Probably wondering about the 1/60 thingie… I will talk about that in another post. For now you can check them below.
You really can not go to Greenhills without taking something home. LOL. Got home again with some new SD kits namely ZZ, Aegis, Wing Zero Custom, 0 Gundam and a BB-like variant of SD Wing. Bought some Real Touch Markers while we were there. I heard they were nice for weathering effects. It will be our first time to try them. Posted below are pictures of the kits.
