Pros and Cons Review of Tamiya Spray-Work (Basic Air Compressor with Airbrush)

Well, here in the Philippines, Tamiya Spray-Work (Basic Air Compressor with Airbrush) can be bought from Lil’s Hobby Shop since they are the official distributor of Tamiya products here in the Philippines. I bought mine at SM Megamall branch. Without further ado, here is the PROS and CONS review.

Here is a short article/note about some common spray can painting techniques which can be used to customize your Gundam Kits. This is posted on a group that I belong to (thanks PGBC). I asked their permission to post this here so that everyone can benefit from it. It is called SPRAY CAN JUTSUs, of course we could see the Naruto influence obviously haha… This is in tagalog and I want to post this without changing anything. So for our foreign readers kindly comment below if you need help reading.

How I (Snap-Fit) Build A Gundam?

Well, I want to share with you guys how I do build my kits… We all have our own preferred ways to build a GUNDAM, here is mine. Maybe you could share to us how you build yours. Painting is another story, but opinions about that is mostly welcomed.

I will showcase here my work area, what tools I use and how I take pictures of my Gundams.

Work Area

I always use extra lights… it helps me (and my eyes, not that I need glasses) to see what I am doing. It is a good practice too because you work on small stuff. I have 2 of them as you can see.

I just sit on a small chair enough to level with the small table.

The white cartolina serves as a background for taking WIP pictures and for photoshoots. (WIP = Work In Progress)

Tamiya: Modeler’s Knife Versus Design Knife

I was really curious about this two hobby knives of Tamiya so I ended up buying them both. What is exactly the difference between the 2? Let us find out since I want to open them up now anyway. I bought them because I like the cover/cap included. The cover is important to prevent rusting of the blade (though many extra blades are included). And btw, sorry for the background. I took the pictures on my computer table.

Modeler’s Knife Versus Design Knife here we go!

Both 298 pesos. Bought at Lil’s SM Mega

Anyway if you want you can check out the first post I did about some of my tools – click here . It may help you if you are starting as well on this hobby.
