We have here today an unboxing review of an MSIA Psycho / Psyco Gundam. On the box it is written as PSYCO Gundam instead of PSYCHO. PSYCO is the correct term because it refers to Psycommu System that is used by Newtypes in the series Mobie Suit Gundam Zeta. But the popular term is Psycho so we will use the terms interchangeably. I really love this MSIA figure because it is easier to convert to Mobile Fortress mode and it feels more durable and tougher than it’s HG 1/144 counterpart. This set comes with a figure of the Cyber Newtype named Four Murasame and a couple of extra hands. We won this figure in an Ebay auction by the way ^_^. Now let us move on with the review.
The Psyco Gundam’s chosen pilot was Murasame Labs’ cyber Newtype “Number Four,” or Four Murasame, and the unit was soon dispatched to destroy the AEUG and Karaba forces operating on Earth. The Psyco Gundam was severely damaged during an AEUG mission to launch Kamille Bidan and his RX-178 Gundam Mark II back out into space, and the Psyco Gundam was taken to the Titans’ Kilimanjaro base in Africa, where it would be repaired and equipped with an experimental new “psycho-control chair,” further enhancing Four’s abilities to control the Psyco Gundam.
Psyco Gundam was first seen in Hong Kong when Four are battling against Kamille Bidan in his RX-178 Gundam Mark II and then, she was forced to retreat after being defeated.
Psyco Gundam meet its ultimate fate when Four sacrificing herself to protect Kamille from Jerid Messa which stabbing his beam saber in Psyco’s head and exploded which killing Four in the process.

PSYCO GUNDAM
This figure contains more detail and packs more weight as compared to his 1/144 counterpart.
I think MSIA figures are around the 1/150 up to 1/170 scale
it’s V-fin loves to come off… Be careful not to lose that
Attaching the shield requires a special connector. Another piece not to lose or else… hehe

A close up picture of the extra hands. The thumb portion loves to come off as well 🙂
Four Murasame
The hands were really hard to remove. They were really stubborn.
Here is a shot of the articulated hands when attached.

SIZE COMPARISON
against HG 1/144 Psycho Gundam
against MSIA Destroy Gundam
against HG 1/144 Gundam Age-1 Normal
against MG 1/100 Deathscythe EW

ARTICULATION
elbow cannot go beyond that when folded outward
but it did not have any trouble folding inward
the knees have limited movement as well
************
CONVERTING TO MOBILE FORTRESS MODE
the first thing to do is open the legs as show below
then Psycho Gundam will do what I would like to call “reverse kneeling” position haha
then you will need to fold the v-fin and the shoulder armor towards the head
then flip the hat-like armor that is located at the back
forgot to mention that the waist has no articulation.
that is because the whole torso can be separated into two parts
you need to pull down a small plastic to keep the torso opened as shown below
then now you can cover the face just by moving a chest piece upwards
the hands should be removed
then you need to open up the parts as show below
the opened flaps from the should armor and the arms should be connected
the shield can be separated into two
the you just need to pull out the wing like part
the shield will be attached under the arm like that
There you go! MOBILE FORTRESS MODE complete!
