1/400 Alpha Azieru Painted Gundam Model Kit | Unboxing | EMS Shipping

I have here an unboxing review of 1/400 Alpha Azieru which is a painted Gundam kit. This is my first ever Gundam kit ordered from Hobby Link Japan (HLJ). It was on sale from 5000 down to 1750 Yen. For me it looks more like a diorama set. Why? I guess it is the stand included in the box. You will see later in the picture what I am talking about. It also comes with two 1/400 figures of Nu Gundam and Sazabi. This is a big kit, the parts are big (loved the back skirts). Also the box is about the size of an MG box. But this is not an MG kit, more like an HG kit with the parts already painted.

**update**

Some are asking for the shipping cost. Here is the breakdown sending it from HLJ to Philippines. Depends on the size and weight of the item though. $50 USD and below combined item value (kit, freight and postage) doesn’t have to pay custom tax. Only 40 pesos processing fee. In this case, it was around $52 USD so I had to pay customs tax…. D*mn 😦

EMS – Express Mail Service Shipping

952   pesos for the kit (1750 yen)
914   pesos  for the freight (1680 yen)
391   pesos postage stamps from Japan (720 yen)
1092  local customs tax (Pasay EMS post office)

3349 total

local customs tax – this is the killer part… that is why shipping many items at once will save you a lot than shipping on one item…. lesson learned on my part haha…. good thing this item is not found in the Philippines….

  2. Did you have to go to the EMS office just to get it? If it’s less than 50 USD then there’s no local customs tax?

    1. yes you have to go to the EMS office… and based on what I learned $50 below should not be taxed… but that is Pasay Post Office… they are known to be unjust so it may or may not be taxed…. because a friend of mine shipped something around $100 and was not taxed? know why? because it was not on  Pasay Customs…. I am starting to hate Pasay customs now!
