Finally finished snap-fit-building this HG 1/144 Zaku 7-eleven 2011 Limited Edition Gundam Model Kit just in time before the week ends. Now we could go on with the review! This Zaku is one out of the 3 HG 1/144 7-Eleven version model kits released for the year 2011. It is the same as your regular 144 Zaku construction wise. The only differences are the color scheme and the decals. 7-Eleven has been a part of the Japanese community for quite a long time, so stuff in honor of them is not a surprise. Anyway, we really love this kit. We had fun playing with it, having it fight with another 7-eleven kit namely HG 1/144 RX-78-2. A hard to find kit nowadays (its already 2012). So if you find one, buy it asap. ^_^
looks good when painted
awts, jap text…
has some gundam-age promotion as well
has one foil sticker sheet and one clear sticker sheet
the one sheet manual, folded into 4 pages
BUILDING THE KIT
this one is a bit unusual… on the manual, the first item to be built are the weapons…
below is the ankle joint that enables the zaku to pose dynamically
like shown below
we used 3m sponges for this build
Right and Left arms respectively
the power belts are straight… you need to bend it a little to be able to attach it to the backpack…
we are half way there ^_^
the mono eye part has no embossed portion to indicate the eye position… you really need the stickers for the eyes…
Here are all the parts when attached…
After this, the decal placement comes next
***meanwhile after the decals has been placed…
RX-78-2: hmmm another 7-eleven kit…
Zaku: what? you have the same decals!
Zaku: you are dead meat!
side by side comparison with HG 1/144 RX-78-2
compared against SD Astray RF
Zaku: take that!
RX-78-2: I won’t give up!
***drum roll continues***
THIS BATTLE IS BROUGHT TO YOU BY… 7-ELEVEN!!!
ok… so Zaku won…
