New Kits: PG Strike Freedom and GP01fb, FAZZ and more

I guess this is the biggest haul that will ever happen in the entire history of my Gundam Addiction. I spent a lot today but in return I got happiness deep inside my heart. LOL at the previous paragraph. Anyway, we got a couple of big kits namely PG Strike Freedom and PG GP01/fb. Also we got Full Armor ZZ (FAZZ) and a limited edition MG Zeta 2.0 HD Color. I checked out Great Toys GH earlier and found an HG TR-5 Hrairoo, SD BB Wing.

The one who sold me the PG GP01 gave me a complete PG RX-78 clear parts set. He also gave me for free his only Lighted Beam Saber made by bandai themselves.

Here are the pictures… Please forgive my troublesome cat Bieber… (he will soon have a play mate yey!)

Gundam Exhibit | Model Kit Contest | Toy Kingdom | SM Megamall | July 2011

We went to Toy Kingdom SM Megamall earlier and this is what we found. Apparently they have the exhibit in line with the Gundam Model Kit Contest this July 2011. The exhibit hosts Gundams of which I do not know where they came from. My guess is that they are owned by Toy Kingdom (or Bankee) or borrowed elsewhere. Saw some cool looking kits here. I liked the modified 1/60 F91 which looked like Heavy-Arms. There were a lot of MG, followed by 1/144 then a few SD and Sangokudens.

Enough blabbering, check out the pictures below (taken by my measly Iphone4 camera)

For those who recognize some of the model kits below, please raise your hands! plox!

SD Archive RX-93 Nu Gundam Review

Here is another SD Archive review featuring Nu Gundam. This mobile suit was piloted by Amuro Ray on MS Char’s Counter Attack. A movie shown around March of 1988 (LOL at history). Bought this along with two more SD Archives namely God Gundam and GPO2A. I really love SD Archive Gundams because of their “above the average” SD size. SD BB Gundam nowadays like Sinanju can compare to their size, but still on the average SD Archives are bigger than their modern counterpart.

Now let us look at those pictures 🙂

MC EX-S Gundoom SD Official Pictures | Model Comprehend

This is the buzz lately coming from the Model Comprehend (MC) SD Line. They are known to produce their own versions of Bandai models. Their last SD Model was Nightingale which turned out really good! Now, I am looking forward to have one of them EX-S Gundoom. It looks really awesome on pictures. Also this will be a nice addition to my collection since I am planning to display this SD EX-S Gundoom beside my MG EX-S Gundam

Below are some official images coming from their website.

Top 10 Master Grade (MG) Gundam List | June 2011

Just want to share to you guys a little list (top 10) I created about some of my favorite Master Grade Gundam model kits. I would have loved to list all of my MG kits, but to be simple let us keep it to 10 hehe. Anyway, just so you know I am only including kits that are already displayed on my cabinet… Meaning I am not including my UNBUILT kits yet since I need to have a kit reviewed first (or somehow have a feel of it) before liking it in the first place, right???

Anyway, I am writing this while at the office (don’t worry, it is break time so it is ok) so pictures 9 of the pictures are courtesy of Dalong and 1 came from HLJ. Credits to the owner of the pictures!

My Top Ten MG Gundams for June (since I started collecting Nov last year) in no particular order

SD Strike Freedom Gundam Review

This is a review of my snap-built SD Strike Freedom Gundam, from the popular TV series Gundam Seed Destiny.  Got this kit from Toys ‘R Us for 450 PHP – not a bad price for a store owned by Robinsons :).  After building the SD Destiny Gundam a few weeks ago, I had to get my hands on its rival. And even though the SD Destiny is a newer release, this one has turned out to be a LOT better.

Gundam (SD) DformationS “Blast Impulse” Figure Review

They call it Gundam DformationS. Pretty much an SD figure to me.  I bought this at Toy Kingdom for 375 php. But I checked online and it seems to be priced at $23.99 (1,041 php). A nice buy because it costed me less than half the original price. We are fans of any kind of SD Gundam. Sooo cute! – what my GF always say. Anyway, this is a toy/figure like those SD Archive that I have. “Blast Impulse” is one character I am really not aware of. I checked on gundam wiki and he does exist. LOL for me.  My excuse is that I never even started watching SEED yet… not soon.

Just to prove the price I mentioned, you can check out this link

Gundam Pilot Figures Speech Balloon! (manga effect)

Because it is raining hard today and there is not much to do, we decided to created speech balloons for our Gundam Pilot and other related characters… We were able to create 3 haha. See for yourselves. Presenting Amuro, Char and Haro! Planning to make more soon when we feel it. GF is the one making the cardboard designs. Hehe hooray for a wonderful work by my hunnie 🙂

Just for fun!

How I (Snap-Fit) Build A Gundam?

Well, I want to share with you guys how I do build my kits… We all have our own preferred ways to build a GUNDAM, here is mine. Maybe you could share to us how you build yours. Painting is another story, but opinions about that is mostly welcomed.

I will showcase here my work area, what tools I use and how I take pictures of my Gundams.

Work Area

I always use extra lights… it helps me (and my eyes, not that I need glasses) to see what I am doing. It is a good practice too because you work on small stuff. I have 2 of them as you can see.

I just sit on a small chair enough to level with the small table.

The white cartolina serves as a background for taking WIP pictures and for photoshoots. (WIP = Work In Progress)

1/100 Astray Mirage Frame Second Issue Review

This is a snap-fit review of the 1/100 Astray Mirage Frame Second Issue. A few days ago, I posted a poll on the facebook page regarding which kit to build and Astray Mirage Frame won. The kit, though only an NG seems to be really good IMHO. Also, I love the psychedelic  color scheme. For me Gundam Mirage Frame seems to be a combination of evangelion, transformers and gundam… 3 characters molded into one model kit haha.

Here are some pictures of the kit… It is not very “photogenic”, you really need to see it personally to appreciate.
