We have here an out of the box build (snap-fit) review of GOGO’s MG Hi-Nu Evo. Gogo is rumored to be TT-Hongli with a new name, but we do not have proof about that. Anyway, this MG Hi-Nu Evo was derived from the resin conversion parts and mass produced as a model kit by GOGO. This Hi-Nu is priced around 1500 pesos (average) which you can usually buy at Divisoria or at some Sulit sellers. I would really recommend this kit since it looks SOOO different from the original Hi-Nu. Only a few parts from the original was retained — the rest, totally different. Some parts of this kit likes to fall off but it is not much of a worry. So I suggest painting it ASAP and then glue those falling pieces together. Well now, let us move on with the pictures and review. We had fun building this kit! ^_^

an overall view of the parts to be built
before we start just one word from us!
Overall quality of the kit is good. Yes we have some flashes on the plastic, some parts with dimples, some with ugly rough surface under the parts and a lot likes to fall off. However with a little patience, this will be worth it in the end ^_^
let us start with the HEAD UNIT ^_^
the great balancing Sasuke is helping out ^_^
head unit done ^_^
definitely need some minor putty work but this one is already OK for me
the eyes are not that visible from normal view that you really need to look from below to see them LOL
TORSO UNIT
some of the parts of this one likes to fall off, like the cockpit cover and the armors with the vents…
Sasuke again,… LOL
back to the torso
torso unit done!
when attached to the head
SHOULDER and right ARM unit
a closer look on the hands… the fingers like to fall off a lot so a little work needs to be done here IMHO
the ball joints have some flashes that you can remove if you like
The real problem is this part here. It is too rounded on the tip preventing the finger movement while opening and closing the palms.
I needed to trim the tip in order for the fingers to move freely
right arm done!
one shoulder unit done!
SHOULDER and Left ARM
construction of this one is different as you can see.
LEFT ARM done
Left and right ARMs
building the LEG unit
got some bad ass nub placement here!!!
the FOOT – a very long foot…
Just a little piece of INFO here
there are two sets of leg frames included in the kit
One is the original cast (left)
the other is the one to be used for the EVO version (right)
the manual points you to use the one of the left but that is WRONG!
perhaps the trickiest to build are the legs… you need to think out of the box while building the legs since a lot of the parts are different from the manual. I guess they did not have enough time to cover the manual changes. I dunno… don’t ask me ^_^
continuing with the building of the LEGS
attaching the armor parts
these two parts like to fall off especially when I was doing dynamic poses..
also the right ball frame (connects to peg) on mine likes to be break apart when moving the leg
remember the legs of the MC Hi Nu Gundoom???
the shin armor part can move freely
knee armor
LEGS done!
some articulation shots
the knee part is articulated as well
WAIST UNIT
consists of veeery looong skirts….LOL
see here… another part that is different from what is written on the manual
rear skirt – longer than the front
front skirt
side skirt – shortest among the 3 sides
WAIST done!
skirts move independently but the side skirts are quite limited when the torso is already attached
looking good so far eh?
FIN FUNNEL system
the fin funnel holder
fin funnels itself (repeat this 6 times)
attaching them to the holder
when attached
the funnel base has been heavily modified compared to the orig version
Gundoom calls this part BAGS
looks like a bird’s head
Fuel Tanks (with boosters?) – nice parts separation IMHO but kind of FLIMSY especially near the gold parts. Glue them if you can ^_^
Hi NU complete… just the weapon and shield then we are done!
Hey what’s up bro?
BEAM RIFLE
SHIELD
Shield connector to left arm
STAND
really cute – lots of DIMPLES
the TTH version was cleaner and glossier IMHO
You insert the stand on two location…
under the backpack
under the crotch
for the crotch, use this
TADA!
FUNNEL effects – pretty much the same as the orig
Clear RODS are 8 inches in length
must bend by 30mm
SPARE PARTS!!!
after building everything, you will notice a LOT of spare parts…
if you have the old Hi-Nu then you can bash it since you have some spare now :))
we did not use any of the water slide decal yet since we are reserving it for the paint job
Beam sabers
Hi – Nu EVO

COMPARISON vs MG Hi-Nu (not evo)
not panel lined = EVO
comparison of upper body
the head (side by side)
tried swapping them LOL
the shoulder armors
the EVO has a longer middle piece.
same same
vents
the way the shield attaches is different as well
EVO rifle is longer
hands seem to be the same
waist skirts
the upper part of the leg for the EVO is naked
from the knee and below
EVO = SLIM
see the long foot of the EVO?
front view
shield
EVO has a blue sticker for the shield…but it sucks
old version is rounded
EVO version is definitely better ^^
EVO is longer
EVO has bigger verniers
EVO is taller from the waist – down
KIT BASHING!!!
I guess, its not easy as it looks… kit bashing the two together looks ugly…
the ORIG Hi-Nu is shorter in height….
left – EVO
right – ORIG
the PHOENIX-like back pack

COMPARISON against MC Hi Nu GUNDOOM
see the resemblance?
the LOW WAIST dilemma….
what we do not understand is why the very low leg-to-waist connector?
the legs are already long… why lower the pegs?
or maybe it did not move at all and this is just an optical illusion…
looks funny IMHO

for something that is copied from a conversion kit, I would say I would give it a 10… the problems you might have from the resin kit version will most probably be the same. So it is like you get a colored plastic version of the resin kit, you get your very own frame and you get it all for a much cheaper price…

Thanks for the review and especially for pointing out the very low leg-to-waist connector (Getting this kit in a few days 🙂 ) I guess they didn’t lower the peg, but the leg armor of the orig. Hi-Nu adds more mass to this section. Now I can think about how to fix this in advance!

i dunno, maybe it is an optical illusion… but our guess-timate tells us that it is indeed lower than the old version

DO YOU KNOW THAT CHRISTIANITY IS CORRECT? THE WORLD AROUND US REVEALS THAT GOD DOES EXIST, AND THE HISTORICAL EVIDENCE REVEALS THAT JESUS CHRIST REALLY DID COME TO THIS EARTH AND THERE IS OVERWHELMING EVIDENCE THAT HE PHYSCALLY ROSE FROM THE DEAD.
