It has been a busy week for me at the office. Well, that does not stop me from building my beloved Gunpla. This time we have an out of the box build review of Model Comprehend SD EX-S Gundoom. This is the latest kit released by Model Comprehend. Bandai does not have a SD EX-S kit so I am glad MC made one. This kit looks like the B-Club/Level F Deep Striker, well without the big gun and tons of boosters of course. Overall I will give the kit 9/10 because I really hated the knee part, it keeps on falling “accidentally” most of the time.
Well let us check it then 🙂
BOX ART
yeah… do not put into mouth… I will keep that in mind 🙂
Some technical info about the Gundam I supposed :p
UNBOXING
MANUAL
They have improved the paper quality and the drawings 🙂
These are all of the runners and parts
Batteries included, an LED, a spring and some metal contacts.
Foil stickers… 😦 I managed to destroy some of them…. There is a bit of water slide decals though 🙂
HEAD UNIT
Well, this part must be the hardest part to build… The switch mechanism for the LED is a pain… and it does not work well either… I say this because I am good with wirings and stuff, but this one failed me…
The face part can be easily removed. And you have 3 choices on what foil sticker you want to put on the eyes… I decided to use the black outline sticker so the the LED light can be seen easily.
Lighting the LED requires you to press the grey back part of head. It was suppose to a one push ON and one push OFF switch but the spring/gear mechanism doesn’t just work in harmony. I tried to clean the plastic but still it does not stay in place when I turn it on… I need to hold the switch to keep it turned on.
TORSO UNIT
ARM and SHOULDER UNIT
You are given 4 sets of hands. Hey you BANDAI! you should give us more hand choices as well…
BEAM RIFLE
Needs painting definitely
Partially combined
Looking good eh…
WAIST and LEG UNIT
I really hate the knee part since MC did not have a peg or something to keep the part in place. It will fall most of the time when trying to achieve a pose.
Another partial combination
BACKPACK / BOOSTER UNIT and SHOULDER EXTENSION
Backpack when attached…
Now, the shoulder extensions can be attached under the should armor. There is a polycap provision there…
All items combined
Now let us try to make some cute poses 🙂
Not much potential for dynamic poses hehe… This is an SD after all.
But it can do this… FREEZE! You are under arrest!
Oh yeah!
He loves his backpack!
I call it the Hand Gun… LOL get it? Hand-Gun?
Side view
Back view
As compared to his MG counterpart… Sorry for the darkness… I have no cabinet lights yet…
This is the B-CLUB kit I was talking about… see the resemblance?
***UPDATE***
this is the official “how-to” guide to building the LED on the MC SD EX-S Gundoom Head
